I have been designing websites for 25+ years and there is always something new to learn, a new mountain to climb, hurdle to jump, technology is constantly moving forward. I thought I would make a little spot where I can just talk about what I am working on. Feel free to chime in and add your own experiences or questions. I’d love to hear from you!

Today I have been on the website all day but mostly on the back end. I have been focusing on device compatibility for the most part. One issue that has been happening for a long time is that chats do not work correctly in Firefox browser. Now I am also having issues with seeing the NGR Music TV chat on my iPhone which I have never had problems with before. iPhone uses Safari browser (if you don’t know for lack of having an iPhone). I have spent the day troubleshooting every conceivable solution. I already am pretty sure I know now what the problem is, but I have yet to figure out the correct solution. I am currently awaiting support help to get that fixed.

I also spent a lot of time trying to fix an error I have been seeing regarding the NGR TV player. I spent several hours on that as well and was at least figure out what was wrong, but this also required the help of the hosting company. I ended up speaking with their support team as well. They said that issue should be fixed within the next few hours. I’ve got my fingers crossed.

These kinds of fixes are some of my least favorite to do. Mostly it’s because I don’t do this type of stuff often, so I don’t really know much about how to go about figuring it out and fixing it. Websites can be very complicated depending on what type of websites they are and what kind of different technologies they are using. NGRmusic.com (as of 2026) has over 20,000 pages which includes thousands of scripts and endless code. It is an extremely involved website and is very complicated to troubleshoot and maintain. I love web design. It is one of my favorite things, but sometimes the troubleshooting can be immensely stressful and overwhelming.

I am about done for today with the fixing of things. I need to switch gears and work on SEO and content instead for a while. I do have many more technical aspects of the website to work on. I will get to some more of that a little later. A couple of the things that need to be done are related to mobile compatibility. When I design the website, I am on a laptop computer, so it is built right away to look good on that. Many times, it isn’t until several hours after building a new page or website feature that I actually look on it on my phone. Sometimes it doesn’t look so hot on the phone, so I have to go back and modify everything a second time.

Then everything looks great on my iPhone and then I see the website on an Android and that handles it completely differently. Android is really not the best option for a compatible device on NGR at the moment. I hope to work on that in the future but there are other fixes that need to happen first. There are still things that need to be fixed on desktop both visually and mechanically. I am working on it all piece by piece.
