Hey everybody, welcome It is Wednesday, June 5th, 2024 Happy hump day. How’s it going I’m doing all right it’s been a beautiful day I’ve been busy, busy, busy all day long working I’m doing a couple of different jobs and. I just moved for those of you that don’t know and it’s been. A kind of a big move compared to the ones I’ve done recently. Like the last one I did, I was just moving across the yard basically.
I at the campground, I was moving to a different spot. And before that, it was between campgrounds back and forth a couple of times. I’ve had a few different spots here and there. And this time it’s much further away and it’s been much more of an ordeal. I did change jobs. I do still have the camper, but I’m not in the camper right now, I’m in a house. Umm, so moving has been, you know, exhausting. Like moving should be. It always is.
I’m not fully moved as far as my stuff, but I’ve been adjusting to the new schedule, trying to get a new routine. Umm, adjusting to the new jobs. So I originally planned to have the daytime for working my job like my other jobs and then the evening for just like the radio and the website and things. And we’ll get there. I just, it’s still. Just getting things organized and catching up with bills and things like that.
So it’ll probably be a little chaos for a while while I’m getting settled, but we’ll get there. So, so far, so good. Umm, hope you all are doing well out there tonight. I’ve got some music for you and umm, I want to do this featured song for you first and then we’re gonna vibe out to some, I don’t know, twos that I feel like are summery today.
It was so nice out. It’s been it was a very sunny day, nice hot day. We have the cicadas here are pretty wild in a lot of areas where they’re just like flying all over the place. Like as I’m driving along in my car, I just I’m heading.
I’m constantly I had one fly in my car window. Last week and land on me while I was driving and that was kind of a little freaky. You know, they don’t hurt you or anything, but they’re gross and huge and so that was that was weird. So like every time I like to have my windows open in the summer, like I don’t like to just have air conditioning all the time. I like. I like to enjoy the nice hot weather. I’m not a fan of the cold. And it’s been, I’ve been afraid that they’re gonna like attack me.
There’s so many out right now. I, I was somebody at my new job was talking about, I don’t know if it was a relative or something of hers, probably like this little girl, it was like 4 years old that went outside and got one like in her hair. And now she’s like terrified to go outside and she doesn’t want to go outside anymore. She’s just staying inside. I know another teenager that has been, she said she got attacked. So they’re just, there’s just so many and you know, they’re all doing their thing out there, so it’s hard not to come into contact with them at this point. Umm And you know, they just showed up here in this area.
I know some people about an hour from here, like out where I was staying that still hadn’t seen them yet. And I said, oh, we just got them like you will soon because they’re coming with the warmer weather and. Taken about a month longer to warm up than it has out here. And I know like further South got them sooner. So I don’t know. There’s they’re they’re kind of crazy already. Like I owe. I saw some super creepy videos though, where they’re like way, way, way worse than what I’ve seen up here so far. But like I said, they just got here, so I don’t know how bad they’re gonna get. It’d be great if they just stayed like the way they are. I could handle that.
But if they’re gonna like be like, you know, something crazy, like times 10, that’s that’s gonna be a little nuts. So fingers crossed that it’s not too insane. I don’t know. Are you in a state that has a lot? Pay does like tell me about it. If you want, you can call in during the show. I’ve got a little bit here.
I’m not on the air super long today, but the call in number is 51641859. Five, do you have any crazy Cicada stories yet? I’d love to hear them. Give me a call once again. The call in number is 516-418-5911. And I’m gonna go ahead and get started with the music for you. This is that featured song I was talking about. It’s by Todd Barrow, and it’s called My Girl Crush.
All right, so I’ve mentioned a couple of jobs that I’ve started recently. One of them. Which is really nice. I hate that there’s like so many songs that do that and I keep forgetting and then I’m in the middle of talking to. Anyways, I’m a delivery diver for one of the jobs, which is really nice because it gets me a chance to get outside.
A lot of times I’m stuck inside all summer long and so I really miss out on summer a whole bunch. And that bums me out because like I was saying, I like the hot. So anyway, I was driving around this evening and come home and this is kind of the vibe I’m feeling tonight when I when I was feeling that that summer out there. So let’s do some summertime vibes, some party music for you and enjoy the night. All right, here we go. This is BlackLight with the song. Welcome to the party.
Hey, I hope you’re enjoying the music so far. That was Hardcoaler featuring Julie Hall of Norway with Dream On. Before that was 10BaseT by Sweet Lily Love and I’ve got another set of music on the way for you. You can listen to this entire episode over on ngrmusic.com along with all of our other shows individually or randomly on the live stream. So go check that out. And up next, I’ve got one for you by the Baron. This is called Put It In Motion.
Good to feel alive. The summertime is great for that. That was Common Celestials with the song Alive. And before that you heard GoOd mOrNiNg by ¥GhoStBoi¥. I’d like to thank you guys so much for tuning in and listening today. I really appreciate you being here with me, and I’ve got time for just a couple of more songs, so let’s go ahead and do it. Up next, I’ve got one for you by Xadrian Ferrara. This is called Anesthetic.
The host kicks things off with a warm welcome on a hot, sunny “hump day,”
sharing real-life updates about a major life transition: moving from a camper to a full house, juggling multiple jobs (including a new delivery driver gig that gets them out in the fresh air), and navigating the chaos of new routines, bills, and settling in. Amid the excitement and exhaustion, the tone stays positive and conversational, making listeners feel like they’re hanging out with a friend.
A big chunk of the episode revolves around the sudden arrival of cicadas in the area
—those noisy, flying bugs that emerge en masse every few years.
The host describes them vividly:
huge, gross, harmless but everywhere, landing on cars, people, and even scaring kids (like a 4-year-old with one in her hair or a teen feeling “attacked”). They contrast the preference for open windows and hot weather over air conditioning, invite call-ins to share cicada stories from other states, and note how the bugs arrived later in their region compared to the south. It’s a quirky, timely topic that adds humor and seasonality to the broadcast.
The real highlight is the music selection
—curated for “summertime vibes” and party energy.

It is so good to hear that you are getting settled in and getting a new routine. I am not excited for the cicadas to make their way across Lake Michigan. Apparently, people like to eat cicadas in other countries. I would like to be a delivery driver, probably for a car parts store. There is so much good music on this episode.
The cicadas are EVERYWHERE now. They have gotten into my work.. one randomly flew off a customer today and made the buzz noise while flying away. Neither of us realized that it was there, and it made both of us jump! I was delivery driving today and there was suddenly one in my car. I was super surprised but luckily got it outside pretty quickly. That’s the second one in my car so far. You can’t drive with the windows or sunroof down right now and I’m constantly hitting them with my car while I’m driving. They make a noise when they hit. My windshield/ car is very dirty. I have actually delivered parts for Napa a couple of times. So far it has been store to store transfers.
I would literally scream if one flew in my car while driving. I had a bee fly in, and heard a story about a snake crawling in some guy’s firewall. I would of crashed my car for sure.
haha yeah I found a 4th dead in my back window today. I can’t believe so many have been getting in! I’ve been keeping the windows closed and the AC on for the most part.
I was going to come back to this page and say what my favorite song is for this radio show but then I realized that I have several that I really like. There’s one particular set that I like a whole bunch:
BlackLight – Welcome to the Party
Sweet Lily Love – 10BASE-T
Hardcoaler ft Julie Hall of Norway – Dream On
The Baron – Put it in Motion
